CBI demands Soren Government to prosecute Madhu Koda in coal scam

The CBI has given a new update from the Jharkhand Government in the case of coal scam. In which CBI has sought approval to prosecute former CM Madhu Koda and former mining secretary Jai Shankar Tiwari. This case is related to Electrosteel Casting Ltd. CBI officials gave this information on Tuesday. He said that after getting approval from the Jharkhand government headed by Hemant Soren, the CBI will file a charge sheet against Koda, Tiwari and others.

CM Koda has been convicted in the allocation of Rajhara North coal block. CM Koda has already been convicted in this case. In 2017, the lower court held him guilty of corruption and conspiracy in the allocation case of a coal block in Jharkhand to Kolkata-based company Winnie Iron and Steel Industry Limited (VISUL).

The current case is related to Electrosteel Casting Company. The CBI has concluded its investigation in the Parbatpur coal block allocation case to Electrosteel Casting Company for the proposed iron plant at Khardah in West Bengal and Kalahasti in Andhra State. Odisha-based Electrosteel acquired about 48.5 percent shares of the Andhra Pradesh-based private company. Allowing the case to be run against Madhu Koda can become a political issue for the Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand. The ruling parties of Jharkhand, including the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, continue to accuse the central government of misuse of the CBI.
