New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed its reply in the Supreme Court today on the bail plea of former Finance Minister P Chidambaram in the INX Media deal case. The CBI has said that the part of the order of the High Court ordered by Chidambaram is the observation of the High Court and not the judgment. The apex court will hear Chidambaram's bail plea tomorrow i.e. on October 15. In fact, the High Court had rejected Chidambaram's bail plea, saying there was no possibility of Chidambaram absconding. The CBI has opposed this observation of the High Court. Earlier on October 4, the apex court sent a notice to the CBI while hearing Chidambaram's bail plea. A bench headed by Justice R Bhanumathi directed the CBI to file the reply by 14 October. Earlier on September 30, the Delhi High Court dismissed Chidambaram's bail plea. Justice Suresh Kait had said that it cannot be denied that the evidence can be tampered with. This decision of the High Court has been challenged in the Supreme Court.
