Cyclone Nivar: Central team on a four-day visit to take stock of the damage

Chennai: Cyclone Nivar is wreaking havoc in Tamil Nadu. Central Government team will go to Chennai later this afternoon to meet CM Palaniswami and then parts of Tamil Nadu to inspect the damage caused by the cyclone.

It is noteworthy that this committee will be divided into two groups and will go all around the state. The committee will complete the fact-finding process by 8 December and return to Delhi on 8 December. Let us tell you that PM Narendra Modi had discussed this matter with CM Palaniswami of Tamil Nadu. There was a discussion between the two about the state of the state. PM Modi also announced compensation to those who lost their lives due to cyclone prevention and heavy rains. PM Modi had announced to give Rs 2-2 lakh to the people who lost their lives in the cyclone and Rs 50-50 thousand to the injured.

Not only this, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) had issued a statement saying that the central team has been sent to Tamil Nadu to assist in rescue and relief work. PM Modi expressed condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives in the cyclone.
