High-level meeting held at PM Modi's residence regarding farmers' protest

New Delhi: The agitation of farmers against agricultural laws brought by the Central government continues on Saturday. Negotiations between the government and farmers organizations are to be held today to end the deadlock on agricultural laws. Before the discussion with the farmers' organizations, a high-level meeting was held today at the Prime Minister's residence regarding the farmers' movement.

According to sources, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal were present in this meeting. This meeting is being held at a time when the government is going to have a meeting with the farmers' organizations this afternoon. The government's attempt is to end the deadlock over agricultural laws. In the last meeting with the farmers, the government had indicated softening. According to sources, the government is ready to accept some demands of farmers. If required, there may be some changes in the agricultural laws.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Food Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Prakash will be present in the meeting with farmers today. They will brainstorm on the points that the farmer leaders raised and will present a solution. According to sources, the government has worked on a possible solution to the provisions to which the farmer leaders have raised objections.
