Rahul Gandhi demands the release of Mehbooba Mufti, Union Minister Shekhawat gave a befitting reply

New Delhi: Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has hit out at former Congress President Rahul Gandhi for the political arrogance in Rajasthan. On Sunday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi spoke of the release of former Jammu and Kashmir CM and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti while citing democracy. Shekhawat has reacted sharply to this tweet by Rahul Gandhi.

Shekhawat on Sunday said tauntingly, that democracy does not harm when legislators are locked in a resort for several weeks at a time by distorting the interests of the state. It is noteworthy that in his tweet, Rahul Gandhi had demanded the release of former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti. He had opposed the detention of the Mufti, terming the decision as damaging to democracy.

Rahul Gandhi had said in tweeting that, democracy suffers more when the Indian government illegally detains leaders of political parties. This is the right time to have Mehbooba Mufti. Let us tell you that since the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir last year, PDP supremo Mehbooba Mufti has been in custody.
