New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran and Rajya Sabha MP Subramaniam Swamy has alleged that Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi has misinformed her educational qualifications for publishing the 17th Lok Sabha 'Who's Who'. Swamy says that Sonia Gandhi has again misinformed about her educational qualification in the Lok Sabha.
In this regard, the BJP leader has tweeted and presented the paper as evidence. He has said that he has complained to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla about this. Swamy has written a letter to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, stating that Sonia Gandhi has wrongly stated that in 1965 she obtained a certificate in the English language from Cambridge University. More than 20 years ago, I filed a petition in the apex court on this false claim.
Subramanian Swamy further wrote, 'At that time the Chief Justice Bench headed by Justice Balakrishnan had heard the case. It was requested that she does not reproduce this false information and therefore I should be 'big-hearted' to allow to settle the case without punishment. On this basis, I agreed.'
