NEW DELHI: According to a government order, former Drinking Water and Sanitation Secretary Parameswaran Iyer was named the new CEO of Niti Aayog on Friday. He resigned from his position in July of last year. Iyer, a 1981-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre and a well-known sanitation specialist, will take over as CEO of Niti Aayog after Amitabh Kant retires on June 30 for two years or until further orders, whichever comes first, according to the order. According to the personnel ministry order, Iyer's appointment was made on the same terms and conditions as Kant's. Iyer retired from the Indian Administrative Service in 2009 after serving as a senior rural water sanitation specialist at the United Nations.
