NEW DELHI: The Indian Air Force began the registration process for recruitment under the Agnipath scheme on Friday. The Air Force provided important dates for interested candidates to apply under the scheme in a notification.
The registration period, which began on Friday (June 24), will end on July 5. The online exam will take place on July 24. Candidates will be selected based on an online test, a physical fitness test (PFT), an adaptability test (I), an adaptability test (II), and a medical examination.

The age range must be between 17.5 and 21 years. "Candidates must have been born between December 29, 1999 and June 29, 2005 (both days inclusive). If a candidate passes all stages of the Selection Procedure, the maximum age limit as of the date of enrollment is 23 years "According to the IAF notification.

"Agniveervayu will be enrolled in the Indian Air Force for four years under the Air Force Act 1950. Agniveervayu would be a separate rank in the Indian Air Force from any other existing ranks. The Indian Air Force is not required to keep Agniveervayu beyond the four-year engagement period "According to the IAF notification.

The notification also stated that the Agniveervayu will not be eligible for further enlistment in the Indian Air Force. The Indian Air Force reserves the right to select the Agniveervayu for further enlistment, if any.
