New Delhi: Delhi Finance Minister Atishi has called on the Central Government to allocate Rs.10,000 crore for infrastructure development in Delhi, arguing that the city has not received any benefits despite contributing Rs.2 lakh crore in income tax over the past year. In addition, Delhi contributed Rs.25,000 crore to the central GST pool, Atishi revealed during a press conference.

Atishi emphasized that the funds are needed for crucial infrastructure projects, including improvements to roads, transport systems, and power facilities, as well as for enhancing the city's overall appearance.

The Finance Minister pointed out that since 2001, Delhi has only received Rs.325 crore from the central tax pool. This payment was discontinued last year, leaving the city without any central funds.

With the Centre’s annual budget presentation approaching, Atishi stressed the importance of increasing financial support for Delhi to address its infrastructure needs and improve living conditions in the city.
