Chandrababu Naidu gets emotional in Assembly House

Visakhapatnam: In the November 15 municipal elections in Andhra Pradesh, the YSR Congress won 19 of the 25 wards of the newly formed municipal body, making Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and former CM N Chandrababu Naidu emotional, frustrated by his party's defeat. Naidu vowed to step into the Andhra Pradesh Assembly again only after returning to power on Friday.

He said in an angry voice in the Assembly that he was hurt by the constant abuses being hurled at him by members of the ruling YSE Congress. Naidu was very emotional and said, "I have been suffering humiliation for the last two and a half years, but I have remained calm. Today he has also targeted my wife. I've always been respectful, I can't bear it anymore.' However, YSR Congress members described Naidu's remarks as "drama".

During a brief discussion on the agriculture sector, Naidu expressed his disappointment after a heated exchange between the two sides in the House. Later, he also held a meeting with his party MLAs in his chamber where he cried. Seeing Naidu's tears, TDP MLAs consoled Naidu, after which all the members returned to the House. Naidu then announced his decision to stay away from the House. "I will not return to the Assembly until I return to power," he said.
