Chennai police seized 6 lakh vehicles and recover Rs 17 crore as penalty

New Delhi: The lockdown was implemented in the country from March 25 in view of rising cases of global epidemic coronavirus. Shops, industry-trade, airplanes, rail and buses were completely closed during the lockdown. Along with this, strict restrictions regarding traffic were also implemented.

After many days of lock-down, the unlocking process has started in the country, but due to increasing cases of corona infection in all the states, the strictness continues. Cases of infection from corona are also increasing rapidly in Tamil Nadu. The capital of Tamil Nadu has emerged as a hotspot of Chennai. Due to this, strictness is still going on in Chennai. Since the implementation of the lockdown in Chennai, so far 758944 cases have been reported for violating the lockdown rules.

According to the information given by the Chennai police, 832680 people have been arrested so far taking action in cases of lockdown violations. The Chennai Police has also seized more than six lakh vehicles in cases of lockdown violation. According to the information, 627902 vehicles have been seized so far. Along with this, a fine of Rs 17 crore 66 lakh 32 thousand 176 has been imposed.
