Chennai Rain Fury: TN CM Visits Cuddalore's Flood-Affected Areas

Tamil Nadu: MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, paid a visit to the rain-stricken Cuddalore district on Saturday and handed relief supplies to those in need. In the Cudallore district's Kurinjipaadi area, the chief minister assessed waterlogging and agricultural sectors.

On Saturday, Stalin wants to evaluate the situation in the delta districts of Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thiruvaarur, and Thanjore. Since last week, 14 people have been murdered in weather-related accidents across the state, with the rain wreaking havoc in various areas.

CM Stalin had said earlier on Tuesday that free meals will be supplied through Amma Canteens until the present spell of heavy rain ended. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai, thunderstorms with moderate rain are anticipated to occur at one or two locations across the Kanniyakumari and Tirunelveli districts in the next two hours.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts thunderstorms with considerable rain in the Kanniyakumari and Tirunelveli districts on Saturday. IMD senior scientist RK Jenamani announced on Friday that the department has removed a'red alert' for heavy rainfall in Chennai, while speaking about the scenario of constant rainfall in Tamil Nadu.
