Raipur: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel held a telephonic discussion with PM Narendra Modi on May 16 yesterday Earlier, the video conferencing taken by the Prime Minister with the Chief Ministers had urged the steel industries to allow 20 per cent oxygen use in view of the improvement in corona conditions and adequate availability of oxygen. PM Modi had assured to consider it. Later, in a phone discussion with CM Baghel, Union Industries and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal had prepared a proposal in this regard and sent it. on which CM Bhupesh Baghel today wrote to Union Minister Goyal urging him to allow steel industries to use 20 per cent of the oxygen produced in Chhattisgarh. In a letter to Union Minister Piyush Goyal, CM Baghel said, "The total daily oxygen production capacity of various units in the state of Chhattisgarh is 462 MT. Oxygen is supplied by oxygen manufacturers to steel manufacturing companies in the state in normal conditions" . Due to this growing havoc of the corona epidemic, the Central Government had banned industrial use of oxygen produced to ensure oxygen supply in the country. It was ensured by the State Government that in the event of a national disaster, oxygen should be supplied to many states by all oxygen producers in the state as per their requirement and demand.
