Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, demanding that he ensure the timely supply of new jute gunny bags as per the Food Department's plan, which was released on November 12, 2021. Baghel stated in his letter that Chhattisgarh has been granted permission to purchase 2.14 lakh bales of fresh jute bags through the Jute Commissioner in Kolkata, as per the plan. In contrast, the state has only received 86,856 bales of new jute gunny bags so far, significantly less than the amount necessary under the plan. For paddy procurement, the state need 5.25 lakh bales of gunny bags. According to the Jute Commissioner's plan, if 100% gunny bags are not delivered on schedule, the state could face a law and order issue.
