Chhattisgarh: security forces kills 7 Naxalites, encounter underway

Rajnandgaon: In Chhattisgarh, security forces have been hit by a major breakthrough in the encounter between security forces and Naxalites in the Naxal-hit Rajnandgaon district. In a joint operation by CAF, District Force and DRG, security forces have killed seven naxalites here. Security forces have also recovered the bodies of all the Naxalites killed in the attack.

The encounter took place between Sherpar and Sitagota, bordering Maharashtra bordering Rajnandgaon, Pathana Bagnadi and Bortalav. In fact, the security forces had received inputs about the presence of Maoists in the hills between Sherpar and Sitgota. On the basis of which a team of District Force, DRG and CAF was rushed to the area. Where the Encounter is underway from 08.00 this morning.

The bodies of 7 Maoists who were killed in Encounter have been recovered so far. Security forces have also destroyed Camps of Maoists. Security forces recovered AK-47, 303 rifle, 12 bore gun, single shot rifle and other ammunition from the spot. Briefing reporters about the ongoing encounter between the naxalites and the security forces, the officials said that the encounter is still going on in the area and other Maoists are likely to be holed up.
