According to the report, the incident took place in the Tarbahar area of Bilaspur. 52-year-old Pradeep Srivaswat alias Deepak owns a house in Devender Gali on Link Road in Bilaspur. He lived here with his wife Anita and was currently working as the principal of a government school in Pachpedi. Police informed that Deepak Srivastava's wife came out after hearing the sound of opening the door of the house last night. She saw her principal husband lying outside and bleeding profusely from his head. Seeing this scene, the woman called the people around making noise. Neighbors arrived and informed the police. The principal was taken to the hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

At the same time, the police started investigating in this case. CCTV footage was scanned and a young man was found roaming around. When he was stopped and questioned, he revealed his name as Upendra Kaushik and a resident of Hardikala in Sirgitti police station area. In the strictness of the police, the accused told that his girlfriend was harassed by principal Pradeep Srivastava, so he killed him. Bilaspur Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar said that the accused has been arrested and is being interrogated. He also said that the murder was committed by the lover after being fed up with the principal's restrictions. In fact, the principal used to forbid the student studying in his school from meeting her boyfriend.
