London: A father-son duo allegedly printed fake currency notes worth Rs 10 crore at home. After this, they sold these fake notes to people related to the underworld. In this case, the police arrested the father and son and sent them to jail. The case was recently heard in a UK court. After a long investigation, the father and son were arrested by the police. According to the report, father Christopher Gont and son Jordan Gont had printed fake notes worth Rs 100 million in their home on Bank Street in Yorkshire. In the court hearing, it was told how the two together printed fake notes. West Yorkshire Police and the National Counterfit Currency Agency investigated the case for two years after the fake notes came into circulation. Then the matter was revealed.
The National Crime Agency had given information regarding the use of fake notes. Christopher's house on Bank Street was raided. During this, the officials seized fake notes worth Rs 2 crore and equipment used to make them from the spot. Apart from this, dyes and printers were found from another hideout in Christopher, which were used to make fake notes. Investigation revealed that with these devices, the father-son duo made fake notes worth Rs 10 crore and sold them to underworld criminals. Investigating officers associated with the case said that these fake notes were used for the crime.
Christopher Gont was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for his crime on December 14 at Leeds Crown Court. However, his son Jordan has been given a suspended sentence of 2 years. PC Conor, the investigating officer concerned with the case, said Christopher and Jordan were masterminds of the case. Both of them printed fake notes in the small tourist town of West Yorkshire.
