New Delhi: Veteran Congress leader and former Union minister P Chidambaram on Friday claimed that the corona epidemic situation in the country is "worse than bad" and alleged that PM Narendra Modi and Health Minister Harsh Vardhan have shirked their responsibilities in the situation. Chidambaram tweeted, "The epidemic situation is constantly going from bad to worse. Inadequate supply of vaccines is a complex, bitter truth, but the Government is still denying it. In Tamil Nadu, not all people above the age of 45 are getting the first dose, and the number of second dose users is very small.'' Chidambaram further said, "No one between the ages of 18 and 44 is getting the vaccine. The situation is not quite different in other States also.'' Chidambaram alleged that "the Prime Minister and the Health Minister are making fun of democratic principles by raising their hands of their responsibility. The total number of infection cases rose to 2,14,91,598 on Friday, while the total death toll has gone up to 2,34,083 after 3,915 more deaths.
