China Football Association presents a new proposal regarding the upcoming league

A new proposal has been introduced regarding the Super League of China (CSL) -2020 season. The proposal was introduced after a meeting between the club representatives of the China Football Association (CFA) and CSL. According to the report of the news agency, the CSL-2020 season was to start from February 22, but it was postponed due to the covid-19 epidemic. However, the virus is now under control in China and discussions are on to restart the top football league in the country.

The CFA proposal is in a two-stage format and is 20 days while in normal times it is 30 days. In the first phase, the 16-team league will be divided into two parts, which will be played in Home and Away and Round Robin format. In this, the top four teams in each group will enter Final A and the bottom four teams will play in B. After this, the teams will play a three-round knockout match to determine the final ranking of the season.

The CFA said that all clubs agreed on the first phase format, but the second phase still needs to be discussed. The Football Association of China said that the initial matches of the season will be played without spectators and then after that they will be allowed to return by following the directions of social distance gradually.
