Chinese president signs an order mobilizing troops for military training

The first order of the Central Military Commission (CMC) in 2022 was signed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, deploying the armed forces for training.

On Tuesday, Xi, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the head of the CMC, issued an order declaring the start of the year's military training.

According to the order, the whole rank and file of the armed forces must resolutely follow the Party leadership's and the CMC's plans and directions, adding that the changing landscape of national security and fighting situations must be correctly understood.

The armed forces must keep monitoring technological, warfare, and rival advancements, redouble their efforts to better integrate training with combat operations, and strengthen systematic training and technology use to develop an elite force capable of fighting and winning wars, according to the order.

According to the directive, all officers and troops should maintain the spirit of fearing neither death nor hardship, and conduct training in a rigorous, well-designed, and safe way to improve their leading and combat capabilities, as well as cultivate outstanding behaviour.
