Chennai: The bodies of 13 persons killed in a helicopter crash near Coonoor on Wednesday, which includes CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife, and 11 armed personnel, have been moved from Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) in Wellington to Sulur Airforce station. The distance between MRC Wellington and Sulur Air Force Station is 87 kilometres, and road traffic has been redirected to avoid any delays. The bodies will be flown from Sulur Airforce Station to the crash victims' respective hometowns. General Bipin Rawat's and Madhulika Rawat's corpses will be flown to New Delhi and interred at their official residence on Kamaraj Marg. In Delhi, Prime Minister Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, other political leaders, and military personnel are scheduled to pay their respects to General Rawat. The bodies of all those killed in the plane crash will be accorded full state honours, according to the Defence Minister, who confirmed this in Parliament.
