New Delhi: On the Hyderabad encounter, the country's Chief Justice (CJI) has commented on the signs. CJI Sharad Arvind Bobde said that "If revenge becomes a justice, justice will not be justice; justice loses its character by revenge." He was speaking at the inauguration of the new building of the Rajasthan High Court.

In the same program, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that "the women of the country are in a lot of pain and problem. They are crying for justice. India's judiciary needs to come forward. That is my appeal." On December 6, four accused of gang-rape and murder from a doctor in Hyderabad were killed in a police encounter. Police said that while recreating the crime scene, the accused snatched the weapon from the police and fired on them, after which all four were killed in retaliation.

The Hyderabad encounter is now being investigated by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). The four accused were identified as lorry driver Mohammad Arif (26) and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu (20) and lorry cleaners Zolu Siva (20) and Zolu Naveen (20). All were residents of Narayanpet district of Telangana.
