'Congress will oust Jagadish Shettar after use': CM Bommai

Bengaluru: Before the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections, former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar left the BJP and joined the Congress. Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai made a big statement on Monday (April 17) regarding Shettar. Chief Minister Bommai said that after using Jagadish Shettar, the Congress would oust him. He said someone would have to explain the reason for Shettar's leaving the party. Let us tell you that the Karnataka assembly elections will be held in a single phase on May 10, for which the counting of votes will be done on May 13.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said Shettar had joined the party that had expelled Virendra Patil, Bangarappa, and Devaraj Urs. They (Congress) first respect people and then insult them after elections. Jagadish Shettar will be used and dropped. As long as BS Yeddyurappa is with us, the Lingayat community will be with us.

Regarding Shettar's allegations, Chief Minister Bommai said that someone will have to give reasons for leaving the party. The BJP has given everything to Shettar in his political career in the last 25 years. The question of ignoring them does not arise. Jagadish Shettar joined the Congress the very next day after leaving the BJP. He took the membership at the Congress office in Bengaluru in the presence of Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Karnataka State Congress President DK Shivakumar, and Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly, Siddaramaiah. After joining Congress, Shettar had said that yesterday, I left BJP and today I joined Congress party. Many people are surprised by my joining Congress. The BJP has given me every position, and as a party worker, I have always worked for the development of the party.
