CM Reddy announces Visakhapatnam is Andhra Pradesh’s New Capital

ANDHRA PRADESH: Visakhapatnam (VIZAG) will be the new capital of Andhra Pradesh in the days ahed, the state Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the International Diplomatic Alliance meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Chief Minister  Reddy also said that he will also be shifting to Visakhapatnam in the months to come. “Here I am to invite you to Vizag which will be our capital in the days to come. I will also be shifting to Vizag in the months to come," Reddy said.

“I request all of you to not only come over Vizag but also put in a strong and good word to your colleagues abroad to come and visit us. Let them  see themselves, how easy it is to do business in the state of Andhra Pradesh," he said. 

The state government would host the "Global Investors Summit" in Visakhapatnam on March 3 and 4, the chief minister added. He extended an invitation for a summit in the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

The decision to shift Andhra capital to Vizag comes ahead of the 2-day AP’s global investment summit scheduled to be held on March 3 and 4.

The Andhra Pradesh government had earlier hinted that it could have 3 capitals– Executive Capital in Visakhapatnam, Legislative Capital in Amaravati and Judiciary Capital in Kurnool.
