CM Yogi says this to prevent road accidents

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has directed the Transport Department to prevent road accidents along with road safety. He has asked for speeding up checking operations, effective control over dagmar vehicles and overloading. CM Yogi said that migrant workers and workers should be safely transported to their homes in the state. The settlement scheme for quick tax collection from old arrears and the penalty for exemption of penalty to vehicle owners who have not paid their taxes due to lockdown.

While reviewing the works of the Transport Department, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the rules of road safety should be strictly followed. Transport Department, acting as the nodal department, should coordinate with other departments like Police, Education, Public Works, Medical Education, Health and Medical Department etc. to control road accidents. In this work, cooperation of Youth Mangal Dal, Nehru Yuva Kendra, NCC, NSS, Civil Defense Organization and other volunteer organizations should also be taken. He also directed to follow the system of helmets and seat belts.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave instructions to ensure the fitness of vehicles, their permits and the fitness of drivers. He also asked for effective control of accidents caused by high-speed vehicles on expressways and state routes. He said that a large number of accidents can be prevented by knowledge and compliance with the general rules of traffic. Principal Secretary Transport RK Singh said that the revenue receipts have increased in the year 2019-20 as compared to the year 2018-19. There has been a decrease in road accidents in the year 2019-20 as compared to the year 2018-19.
