Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is going to develop more cities along the state on the lines of the smart city. These cities include Ayodhya, Mathura-Vrindavan, Gorakhpur, Shahjahanpur, Ghaziabad, Meerut and Firozabad. According to the information, the development worth Rs. 50-50 crore will be done in these cities in the first phase. In this regard, instructions have been issued to the Municipal Commissioners of cities to make a detailed project report i.e.DPR through the Directorate of Local Bodies. At present, there are 17 Municipal Corporations in the state and out of these, the Central Government has included 10 cities in the Smart City Project. Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Aligarh, Varanasi, Jhansi, Bareilly, Saharanpur and Moradabad have been kept in these cities. At present, the work of converting these cities into smart cities is going on. Apart from these, the remaining 7 municipal corporations will now be made smart cities at their own expense. Till now DPR of these cities was not formed, but work will start as soon as DPR is formed. Under the government project, modern bus stops will be made in 3 cities. 24-hour water supply will be arranged. Old areas of cities will be developed as heritage. Free Wi-Fi facility will be provided at major places. All households will be provided with essentially sewer connections. Roads will be widened. Dustbins will be installed in every corner of the city for garbage disposal. The suggestions will also be taken from the public for other development of cities.
