New Delhi: India's star badminton player PV Sindhu today said she has been congratulated by head national coach Pullela Gopichand after winning a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, while senior player Saina Nehwal is yet to congratulate her. Defending world champion Sindhu became the second Indian and country-first woman player to win two individual Olympic medals on Sunday. Sindhu had earlier won a silver medal at the Rio Olympics. Asked if Gopichand and Saina spoke to him after winning the medal, Sindhu replied in a virtual press conference, "Of course Gopi sir congratulated me. I haven't seen social media yet. I'm slowly answering every one. Gopi sir has sent me a message. Not by Saina Nehwal. We don't talk a lot to each other." Last year, Sindhu had gone to London for three months of training amid the Coronavirus epidemic, after which reports of differences between her and Gopichand surfaced. Even on her return to India, Sindhu had decided to train at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium under the guidance of Park Tei-Song instead of Gopichand Academy.
