New Delhi: The Congress party has called for strict implementation of its decisions taken at the Chintan Shivir. Giving details about the decisions taken at the camp, the party's National General Secretary Ajay Maken said that we need to make structural changes. "It is our endeavour to reward those who work and take decisions keeping in mind their performance. Congress said that we have also considered giving due representation to the youth so that such people can get an opportunity at every level. "Our decision of fifty-under-50 is not only a new resolve but a determination.'' Ajay Maken further said that we will strictly implement the rule of leaving the post in 5 years for all the office-bearers. However, he also made it clear on this occasion that this rule will exempt the leader sitting in the post of president. He said that it is written in the constitution of the party itself that the president can be for a lifetime. Ajay Maken said, "In the last few decades, the weapons of democracy have changed and changes are necessary to keep pace with it. A one-hour meeting of Congress general secretaries was held today. One such meeting is going to take place tomorrow. In this, we are discussing how to implement the decisions taken in the Nav Sankalp Camp.'' Ajay Maken said that our first task is to fill up the vacant posts within 3 to 6 months. Booths, Mandals and block committees should be formed. Three departments including the election management and public insight department will be constituted. Surveys will be conducted through the Public Insight Department. This will help in making decisions. Apart from this, the work of each leader will be assessed. Everyone will be given the task and the scale of achieving it will become the basis of promotion. Congress has decided that a person will not hold his post for more than five years, only the party president will be exempted from it.
