New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Ajay Maken recently made a big claim that the house of Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal has been lavishly spent on renovation. Ajay Maken had also written a letter to Delhi's Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena in this regard. Now LG VK Saxena has called for a detailed report from the Chief Secretary regarding the total expenditure incurred on the renovation of Kejriwal's house. In a letter to the LG, veteran Congress leader Ajay Maken had claimed that Rs 171 crore was spent on the renovation of CM Kejriwal's house, not Rs 45 crore. This money was spent at a time when the Corona epidemic was wreaking havoc in Delhi and patients were yearning for beds and oxygen in hospitals. Along with this, Congress leader Maken had also expressed concern over extravagance, damage to the environment and breaking of rules like heritage protection during the construction of Arvind Kejriwal's house. Ajay Maken had said that a total of Rs 171 crore was spent in decorating Kejriwal's new house. During this, 15 of the 22 officers houses located near the Chief Minister's house on Flagstaff Road were either demolished or vacated. Those whose houses were saved were told that they would be re-accommodated. During this, Rs 126 crore was spent to buy 21 new types of flats. After receiving this letter, the Lieutenant Governor, after talking to the Chief Secretary, has asked for its detailed report within 7 days. It is being claimed that Master Plan Delhi 2021 was violated during the construction of CM Kejriwal's bungalow. Ajay Maken has alleged that this house is located in Civil Lines Old Bungalow Zone and this area is protected under Master Plan 2021. Let us tell you that the expenses incurred at Kejriwal's house were revealed in Operation Sheeshmahal by Times Now Navbharat, after which there has been a ruckus.
