'Congress won't fight alone if it doesn't give...', Farooq Abdullah demands restoration of Article 370

New Delhi: Farooq Abdullah, a member of the National Conference (NC) in the Lok Sabha, said on Tuesday that section 370 must be reinstated if the situation in Kashmir Valley is to be normalised. He stated that if the Congress does not unite on this subject, we would pursue our objectives on our own. National Conference MPs headed by Farooq Abdullah held a protest in front of a Mahatma Gandhi statue in the Parliament complex earlier on Monday, demanding the repeal of Section 370 and the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

At the national conference mps' demonstration, Hasnain Masoodi and Muhammad Akbar Lone were also present. He also urged a judicial investigation into the recent clashes in Srinagar's Haiderpora and Rambagh. Abdullah had noticed the placard stating that Section 370, like agricultural legislation, should be repealed. Farooq Abdullah, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has already stated that he will continue to oppose the removal of special status for Jammu and Kashmir under Section 370 of the Constitution by legal and constitutional methods.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha, on the other side, stated that only Parliament has the power to revoke a state's existence. 'Only Parliament can restore statehood,' he remarked. While speaking to parliament and the people, the Prime Minister and the Home Minister stated that elections will be conducted after delimitation, followed by statehood. 'Faith should be instilled throughout the country.'
