New Delhi- On Sunday, the Congress party announced the name of five Lok Sabha candidates in Haryana including former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda who will contest from Sonipat. The latest list of candidates was announced by party's General Secretary in charge Central Election Committee, Mukul Wasnik. Congress also replaced Lalit Nagar with Avtar Singh Bhadana from Faridabad constituency. also read: BJP releases 4 candidate names for Delhi Lok Sabha Election 2019 Mr. Nagar, who was dropped as Faridabad candidate, is said to be close to former Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra, sources said. The list has the name of former minister Nirmal Singh from Kurukshetra. Congress leader and industrialist Naveen Jindal was the Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra from 2004 to 2014 but he lost the last Lok Sabha election to BJP's Raj Kumar Saini. With the announcement of the new list, the party has declared candidates for all the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana. The Congress fielded former state Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Sharma from Karnal and Bhavya Bishnoi from Hisar Lok Sabha seats, respectively. The Congress also nominated former minister Nirmal Singh as the party candidate from Kurukshetra, replacing Naveen Jindal, who had unsuccessfully contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The Congress earlier had announced its first list of six candidates for the Lok Sabha polls in Haryana. The list included sitting MP and son of Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Deepender Singh Hooda, and Rajya Sabha member Kumari Selja. The filing of nominations for the Lok Sabha seats in the state began on April 16 and will end on April 23.
