Congress Huzurabad Chief Kaushik Reddy audio clip goes viral, resigns from party

Hyderabad: Congress leader of Huzurabad Padi Kaushik Reddy has been expelled by the Telangana Congress after his audio with a Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader went viral on social media. According to the viral clip, Kaushik Reddy expressed readiness to join TRS party soon and claimed that Huzurabad by-election ticket was confirmed to him. A TRS worker was heard asking him to mobilise the youth for money. "Pay the youth Rs 2,000, Rs 3,000 or Rs 5,000 and bring them into the party," Reddy was heard saying.

The Congress alleged that Reddy is a covert working for the TRS. Former TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy condemned the allegations.  Earlier, Reddy had submitted his resignation to party president Sonia Gandhi.  While submitting his resignation, Reddy alleged that Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy paid Rs 50 crore to Congress leader Manickam Tagore to get the post of president of Telangana Congress.

“I and many workers in the Congress have worked hard for the party but went unrecognised by the party high command which chose to select Revanth as the TPCC chief. How can the party leadership sideline seniors like Bhatti Vikramarka, Damodara Rajanarasimha and D Sridhar Babu who have been staunch Congress loyalists and select a person like him (Revanth) who was part of the TDP,” Kaushik claimed.

Kaushik said there were many seniors in the party were unhappy and added that Revanth was a covert worker working for the TDP in Telangana and could end up destroying the party within six months.
