Sonia Gandhi said this on Congress shameful performance in assembly elections

New Delhi: Interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday termed the party's performance in the recent assembly elections in four states and one Union Territory as "disappointing" and said lessons need to be learned from the defeat. Addressing a digital meeting of party MPs convened to discuss the situation in Corona, Sonia Gandhi also said that a meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) will be convened soon to review the election results of Assam, Kerala, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry.

Sonia also congratulated Mamata Banerjee, MK Stalin, and Pinarayi Vijayan for their victories in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala respectively. Referring to the Congress electoral defeat, he said, "The most unfortunate thing is that our exhibitor in all states has been shameful and I can say that it is unexpected.'' Sonia further said, "There will be an early CWC meeting to review the election results, but it has to be said that collectively as a party, we have to learn properly from this shock with all humility and honesty."

Congress, which was trying to return to power in Assam and Kerala, suffered. At the same time, his account could not be opened in West Bengal. She suffered a humiliating defeat in Puducherry where they were in power until a few months ago. It was a relief for them in Tamil Nadu that his DMK-led alliance won.
