Amritsar: Congress General Secretary Happy Bajwa/Diljit Singh committed suicide by consuming poison on Thursday (July 29, 2021) in Jangpur village of Dakha Vidhan Sabha of Ludhiana district of Punjab. Before committing suicide, he has sent his 10-minute audio message to Congress Punjab President Navjot Singh Sindhu. Bajwa told in this how he has been associated with the Congress party for the last 30 years, but he and his family never got the benefit of it, while there were cases against him for working for the party.
According to the audio, an attempt was on to implicate him in a plot-related case, hurting that he decided to commit suicide. In his audio, Bajwa has urged Sidhu to take care of his family after he leaves. He has blamed three people for his death. Two of them have been arrested by the police, who have been identified as Pritam Singh and Mahinder Singh. While one of the accused Baljinder Singh is said to be absconding. Bajwa's audio released before the suicide has created a stir in the state. Congress leaders say that Bajwa did not blame the party, while the audio is telling a different story. At the same time, Sidhu also reached the worker's house as soon as he got information about the incident.
Expressing condolences with the bereaved family, Sidhu said that he will always stand firm like a rock with this family. Ten lakh rupees will be given to the victim's family on behalf of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Whoever is accused in this case, no one will be spared.
