Kapil Sibal accuses Sonia Gandhi over party elections promise

New Delhi: Congress party has once again begun to hear the revolt. Veteran party leader and former union minister Kapil Sibal has once again accused the party leadership of making a promise against him. Kapil Sibal said Sonia Gandhi had promised to hold internal elections in an open dialogue with party leaders. Even after nearly a month, it is not yet clear when these elections will be held.

It may be noted that earlier 23 disgruntled leaders of the party had written letters to Sonia Gandhi to make internal elections. In a recent interview, Sibal also attacked the Modi government over the farmers' protest. He said that whatever the Modi government has done has been thoughtless. Whether it is demonetisation, GST or agricultural law. The Government wrongly implemented things without thorough deliberations.

Sibal further said that it was something like a decision in the Sultanate. It looks like we have come to medieval India. Sibal said that a law is necessary to guarantee the minimum support price (MSP) of their crop to farmers. At a time when industries are getting more support, farmers are agitating for MSP demand.
