P Chidambaram raises questions on Balakot airstrike

New Delhi: The Congress is still questioning the Indian air force's airstrike on Pakistan's Balakot in retaliation for the terror attack in Pulwama. Congress veteran leader P Chidambaram has been in the cordon of the government over the leakage of airstrike after Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami's WhatsApp chat surfaced.

In a tweet on Sunday, former Union Home Minister Chidambaram has questioned the Narendra Modi government of the center whether a journalist (and his friend) knew about the counter-attack at Balakot camp three days before the original strike? If so, what is the guarantee that their sources would not have shared information with others, including spies or informants working with Pakistan?

In another tweet, Chidambaram has questioned how the government-pro-government journalist was aware of the confidential decision on national security? He expressed doubt that if the government gives information to a journalist, the journalist may have shared the information with somebody.

This is the case: In fact, screenshots of the alleged WhatsApp chat between Republic TV's principal editor Arnab Goswami and former CEO of TV rating agency BARC Partho Dasgupta are going viral on social media. The Balakot trend has been going on for a few days on Twitter. It is claimed that three days before the Balakot strike, Arnab Goswami wrote in a WhatsApp chat that something big is going to happen. Congress is questioning the issue of secrecy over the issue of the attack already being reported to a media institution.
