Dehradun: Former Uttarakhand CM and Congress veteran leader Harish Rawat has again stressed the need to declare the face of CM post on behalf of the party in the state. Rawat said on Sunday that if the party gives him this responsibility, he will fully fulfil it, but even if he selects another, he will cooperate fully with it.
Rawat also said that if the CM candidate is not declared, the BJP may be overshadowed by the Congress in the forthcoming assembly elections thanks to its organisation and money force. It may be noted that 72-year-old Rawat had publicly commented that the party should declare CM face. Rawat then came to the target of some leaders of the PCC Congress Committee. It is also seen as factionalism in the Congress. In Uttarakhand, assembly elections are proposed early next year.
In an interview to the agency, Congress General Secretary Harish Rawat said, "There should be no confusion in the election before the party." It should be clear to the public who is the CM face. This is essential for the Congress as the BJP makes every election a 'Modi vs local Congress leader'. "There is a need for faces to bring the election to local issues," he said.
