Lucknow: In the wake of the devastating terror attack in Kathua on July 8, which claimed the lives of five Army soldiers, Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai has called for immediate action from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha. The attack occurred when terrorists ambushed an Army convoy in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the death of five soldiers and injuries to others. Rai described the incident as "heartbreaking" and urged the Union Home Minister and the Jammu and Kashmir LG to take swift and decisive action against those responsible. He emphasized the sacrifices made by soldiers for the nation's safety and suggested that if the authorities are unable to act effectively, they should consider resigning. Congress leader Sachin Pilot also condemned the attack, criticizing the central government for its handling of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Pilot noted the discrepancy between the government's claims of normalcy in the region and the reality of ongoing terrorist attacks. He demanded a clear explanation from the central government regarding the increasing frequency of such attacks and the measures being taken to address the situation. The Congress leaders' remarks reflect growing concern over the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and a call for greater accountability and action from the central government. 217 Polling Parties Deployed for Himachal Pradesh By-Elections on July 10 Supreme Court Denies Open Court Hearing for Review Petition on Same-Sex Marriage Judgment Soldiers Live On in Hearts: Mother of Shaurya Chakra Awardee Major Mustafa Bohara
