Congress attack on Shah, 'When our soldiers were getting martyred, Home Minister was doing a road show'

New Delhi: The Congress on Monday attacked the Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh, alleging that while the CRPF jawans were getting martyred, Amit Shah was doing roadshows in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. He also said that no response from Home Minister Amit Shah was revealed until 24 hours after the incident.

Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala also questioned whether such a home minister has the moral right to continue in office? It is noteworthy that 22 security personnel were killed in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites on the border of Naxal-affected Bijapur and Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday. Apart from this, 31 other jawans have also been injured.

Surjewala has told the press that, 'Ever since Amit Shah became the Home Minister, there have been 5 thousand 213 Naxalite incidents in the country. In these 1 thousand, 416 people died, including our brave soldiers'. Surjewala alleged that, '24 hours after the Naxalites attack in Chhattisgarh, there was no response from the Home Minister of the country. When our jawans were getting martyred while fighting Naxalites, Shah was doing a roadshow in Tamil Nadu and a public meeting in Kerala.
