VIDEO: Congressmen blocked Finance Minister Sitharaman's way, many workers also injured

Hyderabad: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday visited Telangana's Kamareddy district, triggering a clash that broke out during which several Congress and BJP workers were injured. Congress workers, including youth Congress members, reportedly tried to stop Sitharaman's convoy and congress workers were also seen fighting with BJP workers and police personnel who tried to stop her. In fact, an attempt was made to block the way of Nirmala Sitharaman's convoy and after that, the police detained her.

Later, BJP supporters took to the streets in support of the Union Finance Minister and raised slogans and after that, the police intervened and cleared the road. At Birkur in Kamareddy district, Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited public distribution system (PDS) shops. "Why is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's picture missing from shops?" he asked Kamareddy Collector Jitesh Patil, "How much PDS rice is supplied by the Centre?"

On not getting a satisfactory response during this time, Sitharaman asked the officials to find out the details and inform them. In fact, he also visited a Covid-19 vaccination centre at Kotagiri PHC in Banswara town and interacted with health workers. On Friday morning, when she was going from Zaheerabad to Banswara in Kamareddy district, NSUI workers tried to stop the convoy of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at Ambedkar Statue square here. However, the police accompanying the finance minister's convoy intervened and removed the NSUI workers from the way. At the same time, Bharatiya Janata Party workers and leaders coming behind the convoy argued with NSUI workers but the police somehow pacified the BJP supporters too.
