New Delhi: 43 people, including 16 children, have been found corona positive in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Budh Nagar, adjoining the national capital. The district health department said that the number of active cases in the district has now reached 156. In the last one week, more than 25 per cent of the new cases have been reported in children. The number of infections in the Gautam Budh Nagar district has gone up to 98,832 after 43 new cases of corona infection were detected.

In view of the situation, the parents' associations have raised the demand to close down the schools once again. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Gautam Budh Nagar district, Dr Sunil Kumar Sharma said, "In the new cases, 16 children below the age of 18 years have been found infected. In the last one week, 167 new cases have been reported, of which 44 or 26.3 per cent are from children. The health department office has informed that the information of children being infected was not received from any school, but the parents have given this information.

He said with the new cases, the number of infected people in the district has gone up to 98,832. The number of active cases is 156. 10 people who have recovered from the infection have been discharged from various hospitals. He said 44 children have been infected in the last seven days. According to the information received from the health department's office, this time the cases of infection in children have increased. The CMO said that there is no need for people to panic. If vigilance is taken, infection can be avoided.
