Dehradun: Uttarakhand has become free from the containment zone due to the control of the coronavirus infection. At present, 13 cities of the state do not have a single containment zone. Now the entire state is 'unlocked'. There is no restriction on the movement of citizens and other activities at any place. Due to the rapid growth of corona infection in the state from June-July, the government started creating containment zones to prevent community spread of infection. The same District Magistrate was given the right to create a Containment Zone based on the travel history of the infected patients and the persons coming in the contact. On September 13, the number of containment zones in the state reached nearly 500. All types of activities and movements of the public were banned except the essential services in the Containment Zone. As the transition speed slowed, the number of containment zones also decreased. Currently, no city in the state has a Containment Zone. Chief Operating Officer of the State Corona Control Room, Dr. Abhishek Tripathi says that all the cities in the state have become free from the Containment Zone. Now no area is in the Containment Zone. There are still arrangements to declare containment zones to control infection. If the district administration feels that corona infected cases are increasing in an area, then that area can be declared as a containment zone.
