Jaipur: A sample of a lion named Tripur, who lives in Rajasthan's capital Jaipur Zoo, has been found infected for covid, after which indian veterinary research institute (IVRI) officials said that the report of samples of panther, a white tiger and a lioness from Jaipur is suspicious. IVRI Joint Director K.P. Singh said there is a need to recollect his samples. The samples of 13 animals received from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, include samples of three lions, three tigers and one panther. Singh said three tiger, one tiger child, one black cat, one black buck samples have been tested from Chhatbir Zoo in Punjab, as well as samples of a black buck were tested in Bareilly. In which all samples have been reported negative. Two lionesses were found infected with corona at Etawah Safari Park in Uttar Pradesh last week. After which the director of the park had said that both the animals have been kept in isolation. Singh said safari park officials have been instructed to keep infected animals in isolation. The safari park was already closed to the public. The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CSIR) has informed that eight Asian lions have also been found infected with corona at Hyderabad Zoo.
