A five-month study jointly conducted by Max Super Specialty Hospital in Saket and the Institute for Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR) has revealed that antibodies strengthen the immunity against the virus for more than 60 days.

According to a recent study in Med Rxiv, antibodies have been shown to be different. According to this, antibodies are present in the body for less than 50 days after the patient is healthy. For the study, the hospital conducted tests on 780 people, including 448 health workers, and 332 people who had rushed to the hospital for corona testing from April to August.

Dr. Sujit Jha, principal director, Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the hospital, said that this is the first such report in India, which provides evidence that antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 can persist in the body for more than 60 days once they are developed. The followup of the Sero Positive is still continuing and further results will provide accurate information on the immune response against corona infections. It will be beneficial for the development of corona vaccine.
