New Delhi: Famous beverage company Coca-Cola has announced layoffs of thousands of employees in the Corona infection crisis. Coca-Cola is going to reduce its operating units as well as restructuring its workforce. The company has offered voluntary discharge to four thousand workers in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. In other markets too, some similar steps are being taken by the company. In the statement issued by the company, it has also been indicated that such decisions may have to be taken further.

The world's largest beverages company has said that voluntary discharge program will help in reducing cost to some extent. Because of this, the company's global separation program will be reduced from $ 550 million to $ 350 million. Actually, there has been a big drop in the company's sales due to the closure of bars, restaurants and cinema. Most of the products of Coca-Cola were sold here in the normal days. Now the company has said that it will have only nine operating units in four 4 geographical segments. The company's Global Ventures and Bottling Investments division will also be involved in this. The company has seventeen business units within the existing models.

Let us tell you that this decision of retrenchment by Coca-Cola has come at a time when the applications for unemployment allowance are increasing in America. In the last one week, a million people have applied for it.
