Court orders case to be filed against Assam CM on complaint of Congress MP

GUWAHATI: An Assam court has ordered registration of a case against state CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. In fact, Congress MP Abdul Khaliq had accused Himanta Biswa Sarma of making provocative statements. However, the police had also refused to look into the Congress MP's complaint. However, when the matter reached the court, the court has ordered to file a case against Hemant.

According to media reports, a Guwahati court has ordered the police to register an FIR against CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on the basis of a complaint by Congress Lok Sabha MP Abdul Khaliq. The complaint accuses CM Sarma of making inflammatory statements during an eviction drive. Khaliq's lawyer Shamim Ahmed Barbhuyan said that Congress MP Khaliq had moved the court after the Dispur police station refused to register an FIR against Sarma. The court, after hearing both sides, said the police did not know what to do. He failed to do his duty. But the law is equal for everyone. Instead of looking at who committed the crime, the police had to see what the crime was. The police had to do their job without being influenced by anyone. The court said, but it was not done. Following this, the court of Biswadeep Barua ordered the Dispur police station to register a case on the basis of a complaint lodged by the Congress MP.

In his complaint, the MP had said that Sarma had made derogatory remarks against the Muslim community while justifying the eviction drive in Gorukhuti in September. He had lodged a complaint with the Dispur police station on December 29, but the case was not registered. The complaint states that the drive carried out at Gorukhuti in Darrang district was revenge for the incidents that took place during the Assam agitation in 1983. Let us know that some young people were also killed in the dispute during that time.
