Covid spike in Arunachal Pradesh reaches a month-high Today

Arunachal Pradesh registered 668 new Covid-19 infections on Tuesday, the highest single-day figure this month, bringing the total caseload to 60,072, data revealed by health officials.

According to the official, 462 cases were reported in the border state on Monday. The death toll rose to 283 after an Assamese tourist died of the virus at a Tawang health facility, according to State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa. An Army soldier, an ITBP jawan, a BRO employee, and three NDRF personnel were among the newly affected patients, according to Jampa, who added that the virus has also infected over 30 inmates at the Central Jail here. According to the SSO, 56,476 persons have recovered from the disease, including 288 on Monday, putting the State's recovery rate at 94.01 percent.

There are currently 3,313 active cases in Arunachal Pradesh. The Capital Complex Region, which includes the cities of Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli, and Banderdewa, has the most active cases (1,349), followed by West Kameng (229), and Namsai (223).
