CoWIN offers relief to several beneficiaries

New Delhi: Amid the corona epidemic, the Central government on Friday launched a new feature to end duplication of vaccination certificates on the Cowin app. The feature will provide relief to beneficiaries who could not get the final certificate even after getting both doses of the vaccine as they used different mobile numbers for registration on the Covin portal.

Such beneficiaries showing different mobile numbers were so far getting only the first two doses of the vaccine. In Maharashtra alone, there are at least one lakh people who have been fully vaccinated, but their names are still showing for another dose. To get the final certificate, users log in to the Cowin portal and click on "Rage an Issue" and select the "Merge Multiple First Dose Provisional Certificate" option.

Elaborating on the same new feature, R.S. Sharma, Chairman, Group empowered on Corona Vaccine Administration said that there is a simple process of entry in Covin. Where the user has to register using his mobile number to create an account. He also said that many people registered their first dose from one mobile number and the second dose from another mobile number for some reason, whereas they should have received both doses from one account so that the system had records of their vaccination.
