Crime: Killing youth in Karnataka, 3 arrested

MYSURU: Karnataka Police have booked three persons in connection with the killing of a 23-year-old youth over indecent comments made on social media in this district of the state, police said on Wednesday.

For killing H, Manoj Kumar alias Motu (24), Potharaj (25), and Nitin alias Vatara (23), were arrested. Beeresh, a local of the settlement of Angatalli near Hunsur.  Manoj was a Kalkunike resident, and Nitin worked at a gym. Beeresh was pals with both of them.

Police claim that Biresh made an indecent comment on his wife Nitin's Instagram page. The newlywed Nitin was angered by the remark, and he and the other two plotted to murder Biresh as a result.

On July 12, Nitin and Manoj picked up Beeresh on the bike after spotting him near a bus stop. In broad daylight, they made him in the middle and stabbed him in the neck and shoulder. The two then forced him off the bike and took off running.

When bystanders found Beeresh, who was suffering from many deep stab wounds and was wailing for aid, they took  him to the nearest hospital, where he was later shifted to K.R. Mysuru hospital However, Beeresh succumbed to his injuries the following day. Hunsur police, who filed a case in this regard from the family of Biresh, nabbed the accused. The role of the third accused is yet to be identified. Further investigation is on.
