Uttar Pradesh is likely to witness thunderstorms between May 26 and May 28 due to the impact of hurricane Yaas. Met Department Director JP Gupta informed that the pressure of Cyclone Yas has been formed on the 22nd of this month in the Bay of Bengal and the storm will now move ahead with high intensity which will hit the coasts of West Bengal and Orissa on May 26. This could lead to severe storms and rain, the impact of which can be seen as light rain accompanied by strong winds in Uttar Pradesh on May 26. The same cyclone is likely to cause light rain along with severe thunderstorm in eastern Uttar Pradesh on May 28. The impact of Cyclone Yas can be seen in eastern Uttar Pradesh on May 28.
